We released a small but very useful feature. You will notice a new column on the earnings detailed page, showing the keywords used by the buyer for downloading your image. Same information appears on the Earnings page.
The feature will be very handy for identifying the very keywords that worked in your case. It will allow you to see that usually it is not the plain spam, very popular words that sell (such as "business") but more subtle ones. It will allow you to see that spamming the database will not work, as no one will use "business" to download your image of a pretty lady in the woods. ;)
It will allow you to see what exactly sells for you and start to shoot more in that direction. Be creative and innovative using this feature, but don't use it for spam!
The information started to be collected on Jan.4 through a special set of scripts. Information before this date will not be available. Also, downloads made through visual search features (such as collections, ligthboxes, featured tabs, etc.) will not show anything (but n/a).
In some cases (below 1%) there might be a discrepancy between what shows there and what the buyer actually used for downloading.
Have fun using it and please don't hit F5 that often ;) |

Yes, that is also interesting. Early days I know, but of the 4 images I've got the data for, all four featured on the first page, three of them coming out as the top match! I wonder if that is an indication of the extent to which buyers examine search results, or if this was just a fluke...... time will tell!

At least now we can examine the information and see over time how it pans out. Will certainly be very interesting to which keywords bring the most sales on particular images, and also which keywords don't seem to bring in any sales at all.

Hello, very nice feature!
Interestingly one of my images with keywords data (and I have only 2 such), shows that it was searched by keyword 'renting' whereas this image has absolutely nothing to do with this subject nor contains that keyword (image id 3257481). Is this that 1% of discrepancies you referred to in your original post?
Also both images for which I have data were searched only with one keyword - is that common? It certainly surprised me... |

Yes, that may be an exception. The buyer might've searched the database for that word, reached your portfolio then started to browse it (visual search). |
